Hayley and Josh here.

Currently at work, behind a computer screen, like many other people around the globe. Maybe even just like you, sat reading this now.

Going out at the weekends for a drink, having a takeaway, maybe going to the cinema. All the things we go to work for, to look forward to spending our hard earned money on.

Sometimes we push the boat out and book a holiday to a warm climate, get away from the moan and groan of home, the grind at work. And this is exactly what we decided to do last month.

Nearly……

A spur of the moment decision based on a very good deal found on the Internet by the better half of Hayley and Josh (I’ll leave you to figure out which one that is) led us to book a 10 day trip to the hot beach destination of…………… Iceland.

Ok. So, maybe not so sunny, nor so beachy. But a trip away for just the two of to spend some quality time together, and experience the culture and scenery of a breath-taking country. So in October we depart to Iceland for 10 days. Certainly something to look forward to.

And since then sometime over the last month, I’m not sure when if truth be told, we decided actually that we did want that hot beach destination. We wanted to thoroughly immerse ourselves in something / someplace totally out of our comfort zone. Something to educate us to different ways of life. Somewhere we could explore the terrain, and ourselves along the journey.

But a week or two would not quench our thirst. So the plan was made to save, save and save some more for our trip of a lifetime. Asia, and all it beholds.

And that is all we have for now. No exact plans, no concrete itinerary’s just the knowledge that it will be done. And soon. In fact 1 month after we come back from Iceland.

So, this is where our story begins, and our savings too. For 10 days in Iceland and 1 year in Asia starting from scratch.
